Here are a few from a project I am working on.

I only got to go the 2008 Boost Mobile Pro one day. I just had too much going on with the new site launching. I was watching it on the web and the waves were going off the whole event. I went down the last day and could only stay for the quarters. It was really overcast (the two days before they had perfect sun, figures when I go it is overcast) but the surfing was amazing. I swam out and shot in the morning didn't really get much. I did get one shot that is funny to me because I basically got the same shot last year. Here they are...

Anyone think Mick Fanning (current world champion) has been a blur...with all the focus on Slater about to win his Ninth World Title. It all comes down to Mundaka (Starts Sept 29th). Keep up on all the contest info here.

I lost my two readers...

Yes I am still here. Sorry for the lack of posting. Things are crazy around here I seem to be running around with my head cut off. Unfortunately this poor little blog has suffered. But I hope to be back to normal when things settle. Along with a whole new website remodel for TidalStock and Ryan Cardone Photography, I decided to move to a new house and office, cutting my self off from the internet world. Wow it is scary how much technology runs our lives. I feel like I need to go away for a while with no phones, blackberry's, laptops, digital cameras, just me my surfboard and my nikon f100. It might be good for me. Anyways back to reality....please bare with me as I will try post on here more.

So here is a little news, I will be in another art exhibition, if you are in the area come by and say hi.

Fowler's in Solana Beach is hosting another great art exhibition! Art by Tocayo (www.myspace.com/tocayodesign) and photography by Ryan Cardone (www.ryancardonephotography.com). Music by DJ Danny G & Aly or Alphanumeric. Come down see some art, have some drinks, and maybe get you photo taken in the photo-booth provided by Ryan Cardone Photography. Wow it has been a crazy summer! All kinds of things going on. First things first my personal website www.ryancardonephotography.com has a brand new look. Thanks to my friend, web guru, Mike Artman at Namtra Media for designing the new portfolio site. His work is amazing, if you need a website he is the man.

This is probably lame but this blog is going to hit 10,000 visitors. I know that is small potatoes but I think it is cool. I should give a prize to the 10,000th visitor. Actually if you are, now this is an honest thing, shoot me an email and I will send you a Ventura Pier Poster. How do you know if you are the 10,000 person, there is a little stat counter at the very bottom of the page, if it says 10,000 you win(take a screen grab of it). If you are in the US great if you are an international visitor I might have to check the shipping cost before I stick one in the mail. Good luck...last time I checked it was at 09992.


Remember Tillman the Skateboarding, Skimboarding, Snowboarding bulldog that I shot a while ago. Well if you watch TV you might have seen him. Tillman and his owner Ron are on a reality show on CBS called Greatest American Dog. It is on Thursday nights at 8:00pm. I don't know if I am sold on the show but Tillman and Ron are hilarious. So far they haven't been kicked off. I have talked to Ron but because of contract he can not say anything. So like all of you I have to watch the show. Tillman was such a neat dog and we had a blast at our last photo shoot, here are some of my favorites from the shoot. Check out Tillman's site here. Sorry for the lack of posts it has been a very busy summer...

So both ryancardonephotography.com and tidalstock.com are getting new looks. It is time to update the websites. My personal site is looking great, but what I am really excited about is tidalstock.com. It will have a fresh new look with so many more features, I am so excited and I think our clients will love the new site. So stay tunned because we will be having a launch party/art show/and what ever else we can think of. It will be a good time!!!

So I have to run but there is some huge news about Getty and Flickr and I want to leave you with some reading...by the time you read it all, I might have a new post.

It Has Been A While....
I haven't really done any surf photography lately. The surf for the most part has been at blame. We have had a few good swells but I was out of town when they hit. Well yesterday was nothing epic but there was surf, sun and good surfers out. I decided to swim out just to keep in shape and have a little fun. I'll have to say that Ventura is really pumping out some great surfers lately. Dane Reynolds is on the WCT and doing great for his first year on tour. The two surfers that were out were Cory Arrambide and Mike McCabe. Cory just won the Arnette Pro Junior in Newport Beach. That win put in number one on the 2008 ASP North America Pro Junior tour. Also in the finals was Spencer Regan (another surfer from Ventura) who made his first Pro Junior Final. Mike McCabe is an up and coming grom from Ventura who also has a brother (Matt) who rips. Mike is an amazing surfer and a great kid. I am excited to see his surfing career mature. Here are a few picks from the day....looks like more waves are coming so I hope to have more photos soon.....

Here is a quick one from Bermuda.

Kauai was awesome!!!




Had a great time in Kauai. We stayed on the north side in Princeville. The north side is by far my favorite side of the island. The weather was great and the surf was good. We spent our days surfing, hiking, kayaking and sitting on the beach, oh ya and taking photos, not a bad little trip. I never really shoot flowers that much, but everything in Hawaii is beautiful, I couldn't resist. I used a so so Nikon macro lens, but it does get the job done. I did notice that I was really enjoying myself, I think because being so close and usually down on the ground it tends to slow down my photography. With digital I feel I get in this shoot and go (run) mode. I hate that. When I shoot film I really think about every shot because a roll of film goes fast and is not cheap. Anything to slow me down makes me remember why I love photography. Here are a few from the trip still working on many more. I hope you all had a great Memorial Day!!!

It has been a busy May...

Just returned from the beautiful island of Bermuda. I was there shooting an event, I did get a little time to enjoy it's amazing beaches. Here are a few of photos from the trip. I am off to Kauai Sunday for another job but I will have a lot more time to shoot stock photos this trip.
