Happy Halloween!!!

Sorry I haven't posted for a while....all I have tonight is a recent shot. This is Sean Hayes, it was a small day but I got a few. I like this one just because it shows how close the surfers get to us sometimes. This was shot with my Nikon D200 and the 10.5mm fish eye lens.

So this is kind of a test...Let me know if you like it.

This is Sean Hayes getting some tube time. I am going to edit all the sequences together to make a little video montage. This one doesn't have any sound. I know the pictures are small, I am working on that.

Just a Reminder...

TidalStock.com's radio Commercial starts airing tomorrow. Listen to 97.1 Free Fm online and if you hear our commercial tells us what you think. Click here to listen. Also check out our site and lets us know what you think. Thanks a million!!!!

Congragulations to Bobby Martinez for winning the ASP World Tour contest at Mundaka Spain, the Billabong Pro. This is his second year in a row winning this contest. If you don't know Bobby is, he is a local surfer from this area and just absolutely kills it at surfing. The next contest is in Brazil. Good luck Bobby. Watch all the action here.

And lastly the photos are of Tillman (You might recognize him from the apple i-phone commercial) he Skateboards and now he Skim boards. We are working on a little project with him, more to come later.

Have a great one......Little swell in the water----go surfing.

Sorry....

Sorry it has been so long since my last post.....A lot has been happening and some cool things are in the works!!!

Here is the News.........

--Look for us or should I say hear for us next week online at 97.1 Free Fm. We are running a commercial which can be heard on their online stream. I believe it will be played in the 8am-5pm time slot all next week. Listen if you can and if you hear it let us know what you think. 97.1 has a huge online listening audience and we think this well be great for TidalStock.com.

--With the radio commercial we will Re-launch TidalStock with more ocean, water, life and extreme sports Stock Photography and add a few new features.

--We are also adding new contributing photographers, which we are very excited about their work.

--Look for Tidalstock.com's work on FotoSearch.com. They will be a distributer of some of our rights managed photography. They come up number two if you search: Stock Photography on Google.
They were very pleased with our photography. This is huge to us since that they usually only deal with the "big fish" of the Stock Photography Companies.

--Speaking of Google, we are slowly making it up the list to page one in our specific search terms. This is great news for us.

--And lastly, In the next few weeks look for a new RyanCardonePhotography.com website. We are updating the photography and redesigning the site.

So I think that is all the news for now.... HAPPY SHOOTING!

What's Your Style Man???

I was originally taking this post a different direction but I started thinking...so here we go.

I have been doing a lot of pondering about my photography and photography in general. I was looking at my work and trying to see if I have developed a style yet. There are photographer's out there (famous or not) when you look at their work you know instantly ohh that so and so's work. A few easy examples are David LaChapelle or James Nachtwey. That style has made them who they are today (yes and being great photographers). So having a style that sets you apart from the rest is a good thing. Usually photographers will get hired because of their certain style.

In thinking about my own photography I am not sure if I have developed that kind of style. I don't know if that is my main objective. TidalStock, my company is definitely branded as fresh and unique ocean, water, life photography so I tend to shoot that kind of stuff but as far as a certain style goes, I not sure. I am still pretty young in my photography career and I love trying new things. Maybe I am still in the searching phase.

So that brings me to why I have been posting some different photos. Every time I edit my photos I always tend to pick out the odd ones. Photography is challenging because everything has been shot a million different times but I guess the trick is to make it new and out of the ordinary from what people normally see right???

Here are a few questions and tips to help you along on your journey.

Think about if you have a certain style in photography?
If someone saw one of your photos could say it was yours?
Think about your goals and objectives.
Try new types of photography, you will always learn something along the way.
Look at lots of different photography. You will learn a lot by doing this.
Are you still having fun???
Go out and shoot!!!

That's all for today just a little thought.....A few more photos from yesterday.

My Other Job-- I guess I can call it that!!!

When I can find time...I also teach private surf lessons in the summer. I really enjoy it, the kids are great and it gets me down to the beach for a little bit. The kids crack me up, and they are starting to get really good at surfing. Yesterday was so beautiful, I decide to break out the camera and take some photos. Here are a few from the day.
