Burrr its cold here....I shot in the water the other day and froze my arrrssss off.  I think I was shivering for the rest of the day.  I love the waves in the winter but don't like how cold it is. I guess I am a wimp though I could be shooting in Alaska like fellow surf photographer, Scott Dickerson.  Check some of his surf photography out!  Now that's hard core!!!

This is my brother's Lab, Jasper.  He's a pretty cool dog, when at home he can fetch a beer from the refrigerator.  Now that is my kind of dog.

If you live in California you know it has been raining. So I am off to the mountains to do a little snowboarding and shooting. Mammoth mountain has received over 15'' and it is still snowing.

Here are a few from an early morning the other day. I have a polarizer filter on my lens and when I zoom all the way out it kind of gives a vignette look. I kind of like it, it reminds me of my holga.

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted anything on here. We have been busy getting ready for a great 2008! We are in the process of updating all our websites with new photos and features.

Here are a few photos of one of my favorite surfers, Dane Reynolds. He is from Ventura and kills it. This year he qualified for the ASP World Tour and will be surfing with the top 44 surfers in the world. To find out more information click here. The first contest starts late Feb in Australia.

Waves on the way...


Looks like we might have a first solid north/west swell this week. All the forecasts looks good, we will see if they are right. If they are we should see some huge surf!!! The weather looks like it might cooperate as well. Check here in the next few days as I plan to be out shooting. The shot from above is a project I am working on, thats me surfing. I will post more from it soon. That's all for now. For all you surfers that read this---PLEASE BE CAREFUL know your limits!!!

San Diego

I just returned from a quick trip to San Diego. My friend just opened a new boutique/art gallery. It is call Fowler's and it is in Solana Beach. He had a grand opening party for all his friends and family and the response was great! My photography is up there as well as my friend Jennifer Becker's photography and also artiest Dustin Ortiz. Chris plans to bring in more artiest and also most of the clothes and shoes he carries are one of a kind items all inspired by art. He has some really cool stuff, so if you are in the area stop in and say hi to Chris.

Other news: I just found out that I will be published in JPG Magazine issue 13. I wrote a ten tips on surf photography and they liked it. The issue should be out soon.

And lastly this week I will be shooting an event for Tommy Hilfiger here in California. It should be a fun event.

So that is all for now: The photos are from a shoot at Ponto this weekend. It was kind of muggy out but sometimes I like that moody look.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while....all I have tonight is a recent shot. This is Sean Hayes, it was a small day but I got a few. I like this one just because it shows how close the surfers get to us sometimes. This was shot with my Nikon D200 and the 10.5mm fish eye lens.

So this is kind of a test...Let me know if you like it.

Well I am off to the Big Apple tomorrow. I am going for PDN's PhotoPlus Expo. This is a perfect time to go talk shop, with the relaunch of TidalStock. There are some wonderful speakers and events going on in lieu of the expo. Sorry it has been so long since my last post.....A lot has been happening and some cool things are in the works!!!

Here is the News.........

--Look for us or should I say hear for us next week online at 97.1 Free Fm. We are running a commercial which can be heard on their online stream. I believe it will be played in the 8am-5pm time slot all next week. Listen if you can and if you hear it let us know what you think. 97.1 has a huge online listening audience and we think this well be great for TidalStock.com.

--With the radio commercial we will Re-launch TidalStock with more ocean, water, life and extreme sports Stock Photography and add a few new features.

--We are also adding new contributing photographers, which we are very excited about their work.

--Look for Tidalstock.com's work on FotoSearch.com. They will be a distributer of some of our rights managed photography. They come up number two if you search: Stock Photography on Google.
They were very pleased with our photography. This is huge to us since that they usually only deal with the "big fish" of the Stock Photography Companies.

--Speaking of Google, we are slowly making it up the list to page one in our specific search terms. This is great news for us.

--And lastly, In the next few weeks look for a new RyanCardonePhotography.com website. We are updating the photography and redesigning the site.
