Image just published on FileMagazine.com

FileMagazine.com is a great site. If you haven't checked them out please go have a look. The photography is amazing.

Here is what they say about their site, "We publish images that treat subjects in unexpected ways. Alternate takes, unconventional observations, odd angles -- the photographs in the collection reinterpret traditional genres. The pictures say this better than we can." Courtesy of FileMagazine.com.

Cardone TidalStockI just received an email that they published this shot. Super cool. Thank you File Magazine for picking my photo! Also there still time to vote on this image at Jpgmag.com, thanks.

3 Strangers and a Wedding event from the Mark and Brian show on 95.5 KLOS

3 Strangers a Bride and Two tired Photographers...
We woke up at 2:45am to embark on our mission to photograph the 3 strangers and a wedding event. It sure was a crazy event to say the least. Naughty nurse, McDreamy, and Mad Max, I think the names alone speak for themselves! Naughty nurse ended up picking McDreamy and they got marred on the spot, did I mention that she never got to see these guys before she had to pick one of them. Both of them seemed to be very happy with each other looks. They are now on a plane to Jamaica to spend a week on their honeymoon to get wild and crazy. We had a great time photographing this event and thank you to all the KLOS staff, Mark and Brian and everyone we took pictures of. You all made our jobs easy, Thanks!!!
...Will he get to blow the whistle??? You had to be there to get it.....

Where did the waves go???

It has been pretty flat here on the west coast. So I haven't posted any new surf shots. I guess the one good thing is that we have been getting a lot of work done. Tidalstock.com is now in beta, so please go check it out and let us know what you think. We have some amazing photographers and their work will be added soon.

In surf news: Stop one of the ASP world tour just ended. It was held at Snapper Rocks, Australia, with some pretty amazing waves. It was some of the best surfing I have seen on the WCT. Mick Fanning powered his way to a great victory. I wish I got waves like they had when I was there. Check all the action at aspworldtour.com. The next stop is at Bells Beach.

...and finally here are a few "artistic" photos. Let me know what you think.

Any Mark and Brian(95.5 KLOS) Fans Out There?

I just got booked by the Mark and Brain Show to shoot their event. If anyone has been listening to them, they do a thing every year called 3 Strangers and a wedding. I guess they pick a couple to get married but they don't get to meet each other until the day of the wedding. Well we are photographing the wedding. It is at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, March 9th. This is pretty cool, should be tons of fun. Also listen on the radio they should be mentioning us. If you happen to hear our name (Ryan Cardone Photography) send us a comment, we would love to hear about it.

Some new pics.

This is me using my
Nikonos-V underwater camera. This was a hard shoot because I had to paddle, stand up and hang five all while trying not to drop my camera. I didn't have the leash on it, so if I dropped it, it would be gone. I am going to make a little holster for it so I can put it on my waist. That should make things a lot easier.

Ventura College Swim Team

Here are a few photos from a recent photo shoot with the Ventura College swim team. This was a first for me. I have been surfing for ever and I thought that I could hold my breath for a pretty long time, well after a few minutes in the pool I realized that wasn't the case anymore. I definitely learned some things and I am excited to go back and shoot some more.

Finally some waves.

It wasn't the swell of the year but it was better than nothing. With great weather and nice waves it was a perfect day to shoot. Here are a few I liked. These are more artistic.

sean tully surfing

Sean Tully gets one on his new/old seventies board that he just picked up at a garage sale. Like the saying goes "someone’s junk is another persons treasure," something like that, you get the point.

Brett Robbins surf

This is Brett Robbins he has a brother named Cole, both are really cool kids. They are great surfers as well. I love to see groms who can surf but also have a great attitude.

This was earlier this winter but it kind of goes with the other pictures. I don't know this guys name (if anyone does please e-mail me) but he is a really good surfer. This was in Ventura, I really like this shot.

Sean Tully surfer Sean Tully gets one!!!

One Shot!!!

So this day was a funny one. The waves were small and really not that good but the light was great. So we (Pro surfer Sean Tully and I) decided to give a go and shoot. He paddles out and I swim out and we keep hearing someone yelling. Not really paying attention Sean tells me that this guy was yelling at us. Again the waves were like 1-2 foot not that great. He was a good 1/2-mile down the beach. We didn't just go right to his peak. That’s why I didn't even realize he was yelling at us. Once I looked at him, though, he didn't look like a happy camper. Sooooo not to piss off the locals we went in, but I did happen to get one snap on Sean's wave in. I don't think I have ever just shot one pic in a session before but I guess there is always a first. I try to respect people everywhere I go. I know it has gotten out of hand the amount of surfers, photographer, etc, these days. I don't name spots unless it is a common place like Rincon or Malibu. Please if you are a photographer/surfer try to respect the locals wherever you are, a little kindness goes along way….thanks see you in the water!

Yeaaa Computers!!!!

Sorry it has been a while! The last week I have been dealing with computer problems. I love my apple G5 and would tell anyone to purchase a mac because they are great, but I guess with any technology there will sometimes be problems. Long story short, I have been locked out of my computer. While updating new software it decided to make a new user name and password and it forgot to tell me. Finally after a week the good people at mac told me that I have to reinstall tiger. Fine except what that did was basically re set my computer, as if I just pulled it out of the box new. yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa I have been reinstalling software, re doing my preferences........yada yada yada.....On the plus side nothing was lost, images, music, movies, etc.....But a word of advice, back up, back up, back up. With digital photography there is no negative to go back to. If you don't have a back up, once its gone it is gone. Check this site out www.thedambook.com. This is a great resource to learn how to have a workflow and back up system.

A couple shots from a few weeks ago. Yes it was BIG!!!

And last I leave you with Timmy Curran doing his thing!!!
